How to Apply

Before applying, please make sure you are eligible by checking the details of eligibility to join the Wellcome Trust PhD programme.


The UCL Graduate Student Application Form

All applicants will need to submit:

  • An online UCL Graduate Student application form
  • A single file containing your current CV and a supporting statement.

It is important that you read the UCL guidance notes carefully before starting your online application.Once you have read the guidance and apply online checklist, click 'Accept and apply' and navigate to the relevant application form by the entering the following terms via the drop down options on the 'Search and apply' page.

  1. Select department: ‘Division of Biosciences’
  2. Programme Type: ‘Postgraduate Research’
  3. Full time, part time, etc : ‘Full-time’
  4. Start year: ‘2020-21’

From the list of courses, find the programme code and title: RRDSCCS4YR01, 'Research Degree: Structural, Computational and Chemical Biology (4 years)'.
Click 'Apply now' next to the course listing to complete the application form for the programme.

Your CV and Supporting Statement

You must submit a single .pdf or MS Word file containing a current CV and a one page supporting statement explaining why you wish to follow this PhD programme.

Important: Please attach this file to your online application form and also send it by email to phd@ismb.lon.ac.uk.


Providing References

You will need to provide details of your referees as part of the online application. The UCL application system will contact your referees automatically using the email addresses you provide.

Important: your application will not be processed until both your referees have submitted their references. You will receive an email after each reference has been completed.
